villa main image

Set high above the sea on a grassy hillside, this stylish four-bedroom villa has access to its own private rocky beach and huge views that extend across the ocean all the way to the spectacular peak of Bali’s mystical Mount Agung.
Fresh and modern in its design, the four-bedroom villa features crisp clean lines with white and grey exteriors to create a light and airy ambiance, while vibrant artwork and colourful fabrics contrast nicely against the neutral furnishings evoking a unique sense of style.

Built with relaxation and comfort in mind, the villa’s rooms and living spaces will make guests feel very much at home, however the inclusion of a few decadent features add an exclusive taste of luxury. With an 18-metre infinity pool that appears to drop straight into the ocean; a terrace from which to-die-for sunsets unfold each evening; a master bedroom with its own pool balcony just made for sipping cocktails, and luxurious bathtubs offering some of the best views in the house, it’s hard not to get into the laidback Lombok groove at this cliff villa.
While the villa offers peace and privacy in an idyllic, away-from-it-all coastal location, it’s only a ten minute drive to Senggigi’s bars and restaurants (the villa rate includes a car with driver) and a short boat ride to the gorgeous Gili Islands, famous for their white sands, crystal clear waters and excellent dive and snorkelling sites.
Of course a villa stay is not complete without warm and friendly staff to look after guests’ every need, and the team of the villa certainly doesn’t disappoint. Fully trained, and with years of experience, the dedicated villa manager, skilled chef, attentive butler and efficient housekeepers will ensure your holiday is truly memorable – from welcome drink to farewell dinner – leaving you longing for more.

Villa layout:
The villa is arranged over three levels to ensure every room makes the most of the stunning ocean views. Guests enter the villa at the uppermost level, via a balé (gazebo) where a large shell chandelier is suspended from the traditional serap roof. This floor houses a lobby, the huge master suite and one of the three guest bedrooms. Cream terrazzo stairs leads down to the ground floor, where two guest bedrooms are situated on either side of an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that overlooks the swimming pool and terrace. On the villa’s lower level, accessed via a spiral staircase, is a children’s playroom.

All four bedrooms are air conditioned, furnished with comfortable king-size beds, and have ensuite bathrooms featuring charcoal coloured floors, granite vanities, cream terrazzo shower recesses and white ceramic basins.
Master bedroom:
Occupying most of the upper floor, the palatial master suite is home to a comfortable TV lounge, bedroom, dressing room and ensuite bathroom. Featuring teak floors and a ‘wall’ of glass sliding doors, the bedroom is beautifully lit with Moroccan-style lanterns while its luxurious bathroom features a deep terrazzo tub as well as indoor and outdoor showers. Blue and white cushions inject colour into the suite along with paintings that reflect the hues of the setting sun, but what really ignites this room is the private balcony complete with its own shallow ‘cocktail’ pool.
Upstairs guest bedroom :
The upstairs guestroom features a bed head stunningly crafted from a huge slice of naturally edged solid wood. Green pillows match the swaying palm fronds while a series of bright abstract flower paintings add a splash of colour. This bedroom opens onto a terrace furnished with egg-cup shaped swivel chairs, and from the large terrazzo tub in the ensuite bathroom guests can soak up views of the hillside and the rocky beach below.
Downstairs guest bedrooms:
These two bedrooms are similar in design to the upstairs guestroom, however one has twin beds (that can be pushed together to form a king). Lime green modular chairs add a modern touch along with large abstract paintings. The twin room, with a terrazzo tub in its ensuite, opens onto a covered patio furnished with an outdoor sofa and coffee table, while the king-bedded room opens directly onto the pool and features an open-air shower in its bathroom.

Indoor living:

Designed for sociable holiday living, the open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area opens out onto the poolside deck with bi-fold doors that can be easily closed if air-conditioned comfort is preferred. A feature wall is delicately hand painted in a grey and white floral design, while a long teak dining table with a bench seat and six white modular chairs lies within easy access of a galley-style kitchen which is fully equipped with all the latest modern appliances. Guests can pull up a stool at the breakfast bar and watch Ketut at work, or perhaps even exchange a recipe or two.
To the other side of the room a comfortable beige sofa accented with aquamarine and lime green cushions creates a lovely lounge featuring a shag pile carpet, wooden coffee table and pretty butterfly wall mural. A three-seater sofa faces a large flat-screen satellite TV with surround-sound system, great for watching movies.

Children’s playroom:
Below the pool terrace and accessed via a spiral staircase, the children’s playroom has awesome ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows that extend across two sides of the room. This cosy den is equipped with a flat-screen TV and DVD player and furnished with two bench-style sofas. The brightly painted rocking horse is sure to prove popular, as will the soft rug and big floor cushions when it comes to movie time. With its own ensuite and a set of wooden bunk beds, the playroom makes a handy extra bedroom for children or nannies.

Outdoor living
The focal point of the villa is the 18m metre infinity pool that appears to drop over the cliff side into the ocean. Surrounded by a wooden timber deck shaded by fragrant frangipanis this is the ideal place to recline on a sun lounger and work on your tan or just lie back and watch the sun go down. Adjacent to the pool the alfresco dining terrace, features a round table (seating six), and is a hard spot to beat for long, lazy Lombok lunches.

One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by dedicated staff. The staff has been professionally trained to offer exceptional Indonesian hospitality. The villa manager and chef will be only too happy to discuss any specific requirements to ensure guests have a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
Villa manager The experienced villa manager, Anwar, is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. He leads the staffing team to meet the expectations of guests.
Chef Ketut is the villa’s private chef, preparing dishes from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus.
Butler A dedicated butler is on hand to serve drinks, meals and attend to special guest requests.
Housekeepers Two housekeepers attend to daily housekeeping duties and also help serve meals.
Gardeners A gardener and pool attendant maintain the gardens and swimming pool.
Driver A driver and car (seating up to six passengers) is available to villa guests for eight hours a day (excluding petrol).
Security Five security guards provide 24hr security.

Dining :
One of the highlights of a stay in this villa is Ketut, the always smiling and extremely competent in-house chef. The great thing about the open kitchen and dining area is that you can watch Ketut at work. If more chilli’s required, just give him the word!
Cooking delicious home-style meals from an extensive suggestion menu, Ketut can prepare anything from succulent pork ribs to chicken curry Lombok style. If it’s fresh seafood you desire then place your order and he’ll go shopping at the local fish market.
For guests with specific dietary requirements, Ketut is more than happy to tailor meals accordingly. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it’s advisable to plan meals the evening before.
Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price with an additional15% service fee. Guests will be requested to provide cash for groceries in advance and the staff will keep receipts for reference.

Villa holidays are an excellent option for families, with access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. While the villa is well-equipped for youngsters – the villa owners have young children themselves – parents will need to keep a vigilant eye on very small children, especially around the swimming pool and upstairs balcony.
The team of friendly staff make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease (and is well stocked with children’s crockery and cutlery), staff will happily to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Club sandwiches while watching a movie? Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children’s taste buds.
The 18-metre swimming pool and children’s play/TV room will provide hours of entertainment and even if the water’s too rough for swimming, exploring the rocky beach below the villa is always fun (youngsters will need to be accompanied – the path is steep). When the excitement of the villa starts to wear thin, check out our Things to do page; there’s plenty in the area to keep kids of all ages amused throughout the holiday.

Spa :
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of your own villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here’s a sample of what’s on the menu:

Release built up tension with a traditional Indonesian massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.

Foot reflexology:
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
Body scrub:
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.

Transport :
A driver and car (seating up to 6 passengers) is available to villa guests for eight hours a day (excluding petrol). Cost USD29/Day.
If additional or after-hours transport is required, don’t hesitate to ask the villa manager to call one of the island’s safe and reasonably priced metered taxis.

Location :
The road that snakes along the north-west coast of Lombok is extremely beautiful and well worth exploring (especially as guests can avail themselves of the villa’s car and driver). Sweeping ocean views stretch across to Bali and the silhouetted outline of the hypnotic Mount Agung. Fishing villages, coconut groves, golden beaches and fields of Lombok’s pretty brown cows line the road and, apart from the area immediately around Sengiggi (Lombok’s beachside tourist town, with a choice of bars and restaurants), the countryside is quiet and unspoiled.

While the rocky beach directly below the villa is not suitable for swimming, sandy Malimbu Bay is within walking distance, and the world-famous Gili Islands with their pristine waters, golden beaches and excellent dive sites are easily accessible (15 minutes by fast boat, 30 minutes by local boat) from the small harbour of Bangsal just 10 kilometres from the villa.
Guests should note that the villa is a 1.5 hour drive from the new Lombok International Airport.

Things to do

Villa manager, Anwar, has a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Invariably many of them will live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Lombok life.
In the meantime, here’s a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villa.

• Play a round of golf at the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club – a serene 18-hole championship course on Sira bay with dramatic views of Mount Rinjani.

• If it is nightlife you are after then hit bars and restaurants of nearby resort town Senggigi, popular with tourists.

• Go scuba diving or snorkelling in the crystal aquamarine waters of the Gili Islands, famed for their many sea turtles, or simply laze in a hammock on the white sandy beaches of Gili Trawangan, Meno or Air. Boats to the islands are easily organised.
• If you are on for a challenge and have three days to spare, trek to the rim of Mount Rinjani, Lombok’s revered volcano. Alternatively, a daytrip to the waterfalls in the surrounding national park is well worthwhile and a good guide can be arranged if you want to venture off the beaten track.

• Pamper yourself with an in-villa massage or spa treatment, or visit the lovely spa at nearby Qunci resort.

• Go on a souvenir shopping spree to Lombok’s pottery, weaving and basketware villages, or visit Sweta’s Bertais market which sells pretty much everything made on the island.

• Lombok is well known for its pearl farms. For loose pearls and pearl jewellery, visit one of the specialist retail outlets in Sekarbela near Mataram.

• For a change of scene, eat out at the fascinating living museum, Hotel Tugu, or enjoy a gourmet dinner at the 5-star Oberoi Lombok.

• Learn about Lombok’s cultural heritage on a visit to a traditional Sasak tribal village.

• Ask Anwar to arrange a tour with local surf guide Aweng, who will take you to some of the best surfing spots on the island.
