Word of Mouth is a gallery, a shop, a café, a design consultancy, and a new label all presented in a beautiful loft space.
From the logo that’s been laser cut through its own gilt-edged postcards to the personalized ceramic bowls used when serving beetroot canapés and chocolate with sea salt to people wandering in, Word of Mouth is attempting to add a new perspective to the diminishing line that separates art from functionality.
Offering a handpicked selection of pop-up books, bikinis wrapped up like sushi and egg-shaped ashtrays called ‘kiss my ashtray’, Word of Mouth aims to be a destination in Bali’s shopping scene.
Through its windows, in between its geometric planters that surround the bamboo-sheltered patio balancing an inverted triangular prism for a table, one looks into a giant aquarium of silk-cocoon clouds to light up, acrylic stars to sit on, giant eggs to lounge on, paperfold chairs to rock on, and yellow droplets to listen to.
